Steph was horrified as she realised Anthony’s body wasn’t there

Emmerdale fans are convinced that John Sugden’s “downfall looms” after he was confronted over Anthony Fox’s missing body.

As viewers will remember, at the beginning of this year Anthony was murdered after the truth about his harrowing actions came to light.

It was revealed that he had repeatedly raped Ruby when she was younger, which even resulted in him fathering Steph. After the truth was outed, Aaron met up with him at the depot and demanded justice for Ruby.

However, he saw red after Anthony taunted him about the abuse he suffered at the hands of his own biological father, Gordon Livesy.

After throwing several deadly punches, Aaron left Anthony bleeding out on the floor of the depot. It was later shown that Ruby was the one who ended his life after she found him there.

John promised to get rid of the body, and told them all that he was buried in the woods. However, during Monday’s (14th April) episode, when Steph took a shovel to the ground it was revealed that Anthony wasn’t there.

As John was confronted, he told them he wasn’t going to share where Anthony’s body is but promised that he is definitely dead.

In recent flashbacks, viewers saw that John accidentally killed Nate Robinson after attempting to save him during the aftermath of the barn fire last year.

He then tied Nate’s body up with chains and threw him into the lake – the same one that saw the Valentine’s limo crash that killed three villagers.

Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), @steviexconnor wrote: “Johns downfall looms OH YES” as @SarahRobron added: “You lied John, you are a liar”.

@LeroyStHillwell penned: “John intrigues me because I can’t pin down his motivations” as @chelseasandrax teased: “the walls are closing in on John, it’s not gonna be long before Aaron figures out what he’s been up to”.
