Police negotiators were called out
Police closed a road in north Manchester on Saturday night over a man stood on a roof of a row of terraced houses.
Emergency services including the fire service and paramedics were scrambled to Quilter Grove in Blackley village, Manchester, just before midnight.
Mobile phone video clips posted on social media showed the man walking along the middle ridge of a roof then grabbing a chimney and sitting down on the tiles.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service confirmed two fire engines were sent to the scene.
North West Ambulance Service paramedics were also there and the Manchester Evening News understands the man came down voluntarily after more than an hour. It’s understood he was assessed at the scene by paramedics.

The fire service said it supported police with lighting and equipment and were at the scene for around 70 minutes after an initial 999 call came in at 11.50pm.
Police negotiators were also called out, as a police helicopter circled overhead.
It’s understood the man was helped to safety by fire crews on an aerial ladder platform positioned up to the roof.
No further details have been revealed.
