Stacey has been trying to figure out who burned down Martin’s market stall
EastEnders fans are predicting a major twist is on the way as they claimed Stacey Slater’s shocking discovery ‘doesn’t make sense’.
It’s been a rough week for Stacey on the BBC soap, who had to say goodbye to her former husband Martin Fowler on Monday (April 7).
Prior to the first baby on the show dying as a result of injuries sustained in the Queen Vic explosion, Martin confessed his love to Stacey in his final moments.
Beginning the day of his funeral drunk, Stacey got into a heated argument with her daughter Lily over her leaving the family during their grieving period.
On top of this, Martin’s partner Ruby Allen was furious with her for delivering the final reading as he was buried.
Tuesday (April 8) saw the pair continuing to be at odds, with Ruby demanding to know what Martin said to Stacey before he passed away.
Things went from bad to worse for Stacey when she discovered that someone set Martin’s fruit and vegetable stall on fire.
In scenes that aired on Wednesday night (April 9), Martin’s loved ones took in the sight of his destroyed stall.
Going into detective mode, Stacey swore to Lily that she’d find out who is responsible for the cruel act.
Warned by Jack Branning to leave it to the police, Stacey was adamant that it was Ruby who committed the act of arson in an attempt to get back to her.
With Stacey telling Ruby that she’s going to the police, Ruby begged her not to send her back to prison when her son Roman needs her so much.
However at the conclusion of the episode, Stacey received photos from Jack of the scene of the incident that changed everything.
Spotted among the remains of the stall was Lily’s water bottle, leaving Stacey stunned as to why her daughter would do such a thing.
Despite the evidence stacked against Lily, fans on the EastEnders page are theorizing that maybe there’s a twist on the horizon.

No matter what happens in the coming weeks on the show, it appears that Martin’s passing will have ramifications for a long time to come.
