EastEnders fans are pleading with the show’s writers not to ‘ruin’ a character they currently have an ‘awful feeling’ about.

It’s been a busy week on the BBC soap, with Phil Mitchell offering to be Nigel Bates full-time carer after he learned his friend was planning on ending his life amidst his dementia battle.

On top of this, Nicola Mitchell has been attempting to stop her murder of Shireen Bashar coming to light as her past quickly catches up on her.

Another story that is having a big response with fans is Kojo Asare trying to show his family that he can live independently.

Previously living in the Queen Vic, Kojo and his family moved in with Sonia Fowler after their home was destroyed in the explosion that killed Martin Fowler.

Kojo has been given a new lease of life as he formed a strong friendship with Sonia and her sister Bianca Jackson, helping the latter with her PTSD.

After Sonia and Bianca left Albert Square for Bali, Kojo received more bad news this week when he discovered that the family will be able to move back to the Queen Vic soon.

Hoping to prove himself, Kojo managed to get himself a trial shift at The Arches, where he did such a good job that he was offered a permanent job.

The following episodes are set to follow Kojo trying to prove to his brother George Knight that they don’t need to worry about him living life away from them.

The character has been widely praised after debuting on EastEnders last year, with both Kojo and his actor Dayo Koleosho autistic.

Fans took to EastEnders Reddit page to commend Kojo’s latest storyline and manifest that nothing bad happens to him moving forward.

@no-Tutor-9739 said: “I pray to god nobody ruins Kojo he’s so pure and lovely and a great representation for autism.” @spirit_cat83 added: “He’s just so heartwarming. Seeing how excited he was to go to work made my heart melt. I hope he stays for a very long time.”

@honest-Possible6596 wrote: “I was worried about this today with the chat-up stuff. I had an awful feeling they were going to have him say something inappropriate or get a negative reaction, so I’m glad it didn’t go that way. I’d still rather him not be looking to Harry as an influence though.” @improvementFinal8591 posted: “He’s so lovely and assuming bless him.”

Kojo has endured a dramatic few months, having played a big role in the Cindy Beale affair story after he learned that she was having an affair on George with his stepson Junior.

In heartbreaking scenes, Kojo was left in a coma after he fell over a staircase during a confrontation with Cindy. Once he woke up, Kojo was manipulated by the villain to keep quiet.

Thankfully, the truth came to light and Kojo finally appears ready to make the most of life in Walford without any more bad things happening.
