Bury New Road was blocked for two hours after the crash
A car mounted a crossing, was crashed into a set of traffic lights and landed on its roof in a crash in Prestwich before a man was cut free from the wreckage.
Police, fire crews and paramedics attended the incident on Bury New Road, at the busy junction with Scholes Lane at around 4.15pm on Wednesday (April 16).
The small Kia appeared to have been crashed into a central crossing at the junction before hitting a lamppost and flipping onto its roof. The fire service hoisted the vehicle back up and rescued a man from inside.

The southbound carriageway was blocked by emergency crews for around two hours. The man was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said, “At around 4:15pm today (Wednesday, 16th April), firefighters were called to reports of a crash on Scholes Lane in Prestwich.
“Two fire engines from Broughton and Agecroft fire stations, along with the enhanced rescue unit from Leigh fire station quickly arrived at the scene, where a car had collided with a pelican crossing pole and flipped onto its roof.
“One male casualty was extricated from the vehicle by fire service personnel and treated for minor injuries at the scene by colleagues from the North West Ambulance Service.
“Crews worked with Greater Manchester Police and the Highways Agency to make the area safe before leaving the scene about two hours later.”
