Here’s what you need to know:
The drama series is regarded as one of the best show’s of all time
A critically acclaimed action film starring an unlikely Breaking Bad star is airing on TV tonight (April 17) for free across the UK.
Premiering in 2008 and running for six seasons until 2013, the series told the story of chemistry teacher Walter White becoming a drug lord.
Often called the best TV show of all time, the cancer-stricken Walter joins forces with Jesse Pinkman in a tale full of memorable characters, twists and explosive moments.
When the show ended, many people assumed it would be its leads Bryan Cranston or Aaron Paul who would have the biggest success.
Malcolm in the Middle star Cranston mainly stuck to prestige dramas like Trumbo, avoiding going down the route of focusing solely on blockbusters.
While outside of his Need for Speed movie, Paul has remained on television, giving memorable performances on WestWorld and Black Mirror.
When it comes to the supporting cast, the series’ big bad Giancarlo Esposito went on to play different versions of Gus Fring and Jesse Plemons starred in a number of Best Picture nominated films.
However, no many would have predicted Bob Odenkirk being in with a big shout of having the best post Breaking Bad Career.
Wisely sticking with his shady lawyer Saul Goodman for prequel series Better Call Saul, comedian Odenkirk proved he could add layers to a character who is one dimensional on the original series.
Somehow not winning any major awards for his work, Odenkirk took his career in a new direction with the 2021 film Nobody.
Odenkirk stars as a mild-mannered family man who returns to his former life of an assassin after his family become the target of a vengeful crime lord.
In a world full of John Wick rip-offs, Nobody turns the genre on its head as Odenkirk brings a level of physicality to a role not like abything in his past work.
Filling out the stacked supporting cast is Connie Nielsen, RZA, Aleksei Serebryakov, and Back to the Future’s Christopher Lloyd.
Loved by both fans and critics, Nobody managed to gross $57 million on a $16 million budget at a time where cinemas were just getting back to normal after Covid-19.
Continuing to gather steam once it hit streaming services, a sequel to Nobody is set to be released on August 15.
Before you flock to the cinema this summer to see Odenkirk back in action, why not remind yourself what made the first film so special.
Nobody airs on Thursday, April 16, at 9pm on Film 4 and channel4.com
