The actor shared with the Big Brother housemates that he almost ended up on the big screen, twice

Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd revealed how close he was to landing two iconic movie roles before he found fame in the ITV soap.

During Wednesday’s (April 16) episode of Celebrity Big Brother, Jack shared with TOWIE’s Ella Rae Wise, Love Island’s Chris Hughes, Chesney Hawkes, Donna Preston and JoJo Siwa that his career almost lookd very different.

As they sat round and played the game ‘two truths one lie’, American star JoJo Siwa kicked off the discussion. She asked which statement was fake out of her having fake teeth, getting into seven car accidents, or sleeping with a man.

It was revealed that her having all fake teeth is the lie, as she explained she has her molars.

Jack then took centre stage as he asked his fellow housemates to guess which hit movie he wasn’t almost cast in as he listed three iconic names.

The actor told the house that he auditioned for Gladiator, Harry Potter and Billy Elliot. JoJo guessed correctly as he shared that he didn’t go up for Gladiator.

However, they were shocked to learn he was close to scoring Harry Potter and Billy Elliot as a child.

Jack is best known for his portrayal of David Platt on Coronation Street. He joined the ITV soap in 2000 and this year marks his 25th anniversary on the Manchester-based soap.

Prior to appearing on Corrie, Jack has appeared on Where the Heart Is and Clocking Off, and has gone on to take part in the annual soap quiz show The Big Quiz.

Since entering the Big Brother house, he has found himself in both of the lists for eviction, but has been saved twice by the public vote.

Speaking of the public, they were shocked to learn that he almost ended up in Harry Potter and Billy Elliot as they took to X (formerly known as Twitter).

@emmabraybrook laughed as they wrote “you’re a wizard Jack” alongside a split image of him and Harry Potter. @BBUKMikey added: “Imagine a world where Jack P Shepherd was Harry Potter and Daniel Radcliffe was David Platt”.
