Samia Longchambon has been flooded with messages from fans as she teased a Coronation Street update while fans questioned her whereabouts in the long-running show.

The actress, who is famed for playing Maria Windass on the cobbles, is no stranger to giving little glimpses behind the scenes of working on the ITV soap.

But recently, fans have started asking about a number of characters’ sudden disappearance from Weatherfield, including Maria, who has been played by Samia since 2000, and her husband Gary Windass, played by Mikey North.

It’s been no secret that a number of exits from the cobbles have either happened or are set to take place in the coming weeks and months.

They’ve been flocking to social media with @LauraJeanneH writing: “Where has Gary and Maria gone?? And why has Ken STILL not returned from holiday? #corrie.”

@Sharonimo55 replied: “Hmmmmm #Corrie mysteries. OK, Ken is approx 90, and we don’t want to overwork the actor. But Gary & Maria have been AWOL for months. Is there a Bermuda Triangle corner in Weatherfield?”

But Samia has confirmed she is very much busy on the cobbles as she shared a number of photos from the show’s Trafford-based set, as well as how she’s recently been spending her downtime in the recent sunny spell.

Posting the string of images on Instagram, which included a selfie with on-screen son Charlie Wrenshall, who plays Liam Connor in Corrie, and a mirror selfie from her dressing room, the soap star wrote to her followers: “Work / Life lately.”

And fans were quick to respond. @swarlanationx said: “An actual angel.” @beckywoodhill commented: “You look naturally stunning. Great to see you and the young lad the plays Liam! Hope you are well.”
