Coronation Street star Sally Carman-Duttine has revealed she has a sweet tattoo tribute to her co-star husband and their family which fans don’t see.
The actress, who is best known for playing Abi Webster in the ITV soap, recently opened up about starring alongside her real-life partner Joe Duttine on the show.
But Sally has confessed she cannot stand to be near her spouse, who is much-loved for playing Tim Metcalfe, on set.
She told OK! Magazine: “I’d be very happy never to have a scene with him ever again. I love Joe to bits, but I don’t like working with him – I’m never going to like working with him.”
She continued: “Bless him, we’ve got very different work processes – let’s just put it like that. I like to come fully prepared, and he likes to flesh it out on the floor.”
What’s more, the 43-year-old actress gets into fits of laughter whenever her other half tells one of his jokes and he likes to make her life “on purpose”, which results in Sally telling him off.
She shared: “Also, he’s very funny. I’m such a giggler and once I’ve gone, I’m gone. It’s terrible and even if people get annoyed about it, it doesn’t help.
“He absolutely makes me howl with laughter and he does it on purpose. I get cross with him because he knows the situation, but he can’t help himself.”
The couple have been married since 2022 and Joe has three children from a previous relationship, who Sally has honoured with her very own tattoo.
Reflecting on making spontaneous decisions, the soap star said she would just casually stroll into a tattoo parlour and get a new ink done, before revealing her most recent piece is dedicated to her husband.
“Or I’ll just walk in and get a tattoo,” she told OK! magazine after revealing she once chopped her hair off on the spot. I’ve got three, but one I’ve had done four or five times. It’s been cover up after cover up – it’s actually hideous, I hate it!”
Speaking about her newest ink, she added: “The most recent is a fancy J with three stars on my ribs. The J is for Joe and the stars are for his three kids. That one is really nice.”
