Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd’s next big move after leaving Celebrity Big Brother has already been announced by his co-stars.

After marking 25 years on the cobbles, where he is famed for playing David Platt, the actor took a punt on reality TV and entered the ITV reality show’s famous house as it returned for a second series since being rebooted by ITV.

But he’s not had the easiest of times so far as he was seen surviving being nominated for the second eviction of the reality series on Tuesday night (April 15) after surviving the first public vote last week.

Jack found himself in the firing line once again by his fellow housemates as they chose him to face the second public vote alongside EastEnders actress Patsy Palmer, who received the most nominations, and TV presenter Trisha Goddard.

The second live eviction eventually saw Trisha given her marching orders, with the veteran broadcaster admitting she was “a bit sad” to be going, but reflected positively on her experience, which comes as she’s receiving palliative care following a secondary breast cancer diagnosis.

The support, meanwhile, has been clear for Jack with many of his CBB and Corrie co-stars speaking out in his defence

Michael Fabricant, who lost his place on the show to Jack and Mickey Rourke before he was removed from the house, took to X, formerly known as Twitter, and said: “Reading some bad things about Jack. #CBBUK He is NOT boring. Far from it.

“He is thoughtful and quiet. And talking to him, one to one, he is full of interesting stories and analyses – as are many of the others. But he laughs at all my jokes. (Which is a BIG plus).”

Meanwhile, Sally Ann Matthews, who plays Corrie’s Jenny Connor, added her own thoughts as she continues to tune in. Posting on her X account, the soap star wrote: “That’s Jack. The real Jack. He’s ace. Nothing bugs him x #CBBUK.” She later posted: “Jacky P’s gorgeous cheeky grin x #cbbuk.”

But while he’s in the house, the podcast he co-hosts, On the Sofa, with Colson Smith and Ben Price, is still on-going with the Craig Tinker and Nick Tilsley actors offering daily episodes reacting to what’s been going on in CBB.

And the trio, even in Jack’s absence, had some exciting news to share as it was revealed they’ll be taking their podcast to the stage for a live show once again.

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday (April 15), a post on the On the Sofa Instagram page read: “ON THE SOFA LIVE IN SHEFFIELD. We’re so excited to be heading back to God’s own country as part of this year’s @crossedwiresfest on Sunday 6th July.

“There will be all the usual On The Sofa nonsense and we’d love to see you there! Tickets are on sale now, head to the link in our bio to get them while you can!”

And fans were excited. @meganb7x said: “Yasss just got my ticket!! In my city too.” @melissabarden_ commented: “Got my tickets!!”@glitterslikeg0ld added: “See you there chaps!”
