Coronation Street fans couldn’t help but be distracted by Rita Tanner’s cheeky hint at the world outside of Weatherfield as they were also left pleading for answers.

During the latest edition of the ITV soap on Monday (April 21), Jenny was thrilled when ‘Dom’ arrived in the Rovers. Daisy Midgelye, however, was shocked as she wasn’t aware ‘Dom’ was a real person as she catfishes her stepmother with the help of her mother Christina Boyd.

But Christina explained to Daisy that it’s all part of her plan. When Dom confides in Jenny that he’s selling his business and anyone who invests in it in the next few days will be guaranteed to double their money, Jenny was clearly interested, unaware of Christina and Daisy’s subterfuge.

As ever, Jenny looked to Rita for some support but Corrie fans were left flocking to social media to comment on their interaction thanks to Rita’s comments.

The iconic character, played by soap legend Barbara Knox, was asked by Jenny: “What do you know about sugar daddies?” to which Rita replied with a glint in her eye; “Oh, I watch ITV2!”

Responding to the comment, @jordsdanx said: “Never expected Rita and Itv2 to be in the same sentence.” @daviddavensac commented: “That was a classic line from our Reet Petit! We deffo need more Rita in the show!!”

@partingtonlennon echoed: “Please give us more Rita! We miss her.” @freesamples.co.uk wrote: “Rita’s got more telly wisdom than the TV guide! Pass the custard creams.” @WhoPotterVian posted: “Rita watches ITV2? I bet she was an avid viewer of Celebrity Juice when that used to be on. #Corrie.”

Others, however, were keen to find out more about a place Rita knows very well after its recent absence – The Kabin. @RyanSoapKing25 said: “Another Kabin mention but still no sighting.
