Coronation Street fans have been asking questions about one of the famous places on the cobbles as it seemingly ‘goes missing’ from use.

The Kabin is the local newsagents which is located at 10 Coronation Street, after previously having a home on Rosamund Street.

Originally a newsagents known as Biddulphs incorporating a cafe and a lending library, the shop at 14 Rosamund Street was bought by Len Fairclough in May 1973 for £3,000

The name was later changed to The Kabin, despite Rita’s suggestion of ‘Rita’s’ being turned down but she was soon named the new manager.

50 years later and Brian Packham is the owner, with Rita still a frequent face around the place. But lately, Corrie fans feel like there has been a lack of content from within The Kabin.

@camjmes0 said: “The way Rita is still pottering away in the UNSEEN Kabin at the grand age of 93 years old. #Corrie@TavernHoyden asked: “#corrie The Kabin? What is it?”

@jazzyg2005 commented: “Kabin mention in 2025….could a new scene in it actually loom? #Corrie.” @jasonpbuckby posted: “anyone else miss the gossip in the Kabin ????? the interior set not seen since last year @itvcorrie #Corrie.” @RyanSoapKing25 added: “The Kabin mention! Bring it back #Corrie.”

It comes as all eyes are currently on another iconic venue on the famous street. The Rovers Return has been the second home to many of the street’s most famous residents for the past 65 years.

But it seems the list of owners may be set to grow as the beloved watering hole will soon be on the market as Carla Connor forces Jenny Connor to put the pub on the market.

As fans know, Carla is owed money from Jenny and Daisy Midgeley and after waiting some time for its return, she’s decided action needs taking and that the Rovers Return needs to be sold.

Viewers will recall that at the end of 2023 and into early 2024, the Rovers and its staff faced a tumultuous time. The pub experienced a period of closure after landlady Jenny was forced to sell up.

A result of crippling costs amid the Cost of Living crisis, Jenny sold the beloved pub to Newton and Ridley and all seemed well as she was able to continue running the pub with the help of her staff.

However, the jubilation didn’t last long as they discovered Newton and Ridley were being sold to another company, Waterford Incorporated and as a result, they all lost their jobs. With the pub undergoing refurbishment, it was left empty of customers for a while before Daisy Midgeley came up with a cunning plan.

A panicked Jenny didn’t know what to do but Daisy managed to convince her that they should use the hidden lump sum to buy the pub back but she promised Jenny they’d pay Carla back every penny.

So the pair brought back the Rovers and agreed to be secret co-owners, however, Daisy’s co-ownership has since been uncovered and the pair claimed they got the money from her mother, Christina, after the bank turned down their loan application.

But the truth about where they got the money was first nearly exposed by Christina, who actually kept up the lie in a power move over her daughter. In the end though, it was Bethany Platt’s digging that unravelled Daisy and Jenny’s lies and Carla eventually found out what really happened to her money.

Jenny vowed to pay Carla back installments but when Carla fell ill earlier this year and was told she needed another kidney transplant, Carla demanded Jenny and Daisy pay her as she needed to cash to help facilitate her prisoner brother, Rob, being a donor.

It was then at the end of last week, Carla broke the news to Jenny that she needs to pay Lisa Swain back and that she’s decided to sell the pub, leaving Jenny shocked.
