Jonny Evans has been included in the Manchester United squad to face Wolves this afternoon.

Evans recently returned to training at Carrington as he stepped up his rehabilitation from a muscle injury, and he’s set to be in the matchday squad for the first time since December 19.

United are still coming down from the high of beating Lyon in the Europa League quarter-finals. It was one of the most special comebacks in the club’s history and will be savoured for a long time to come.

Ruben Amorim has confirmed he will rotate his players during the Premier League run-in because the Europa League is the priority, which means first-team debuts could be handed out.

Dermot Mee, Harry Amass and Tyler Fredricson were spotted arriving at Old Trafford ahead of the game with Wolves, but Chido Obi wasn’t picked up by the cameras. That doesn’t necessarily mean Obi is not in the squad, and the same can be said for Altay Bayindir, Matthijs de Ligt and Luke Shaw, who also weren’t spotted.

Wolves are 17th in the Premier League, but they are 14 points clear of the relegation zone thanks to the work of Vítor Pereira, who has steered them to safety since his appointment in December.

United lost 2-0 to Wolves at Molineux on Boxing Day and will be looking to make amends.

Confirmed player arrivals

Defenders: Dalot, Amass, Lindelof, Evans, Maguire, Dorgu, Fredricson, Yoro, Mazraoui.

Midfielders: Eriksen, Casemiro, Fernandes, Mount, Ugarte
