The Oscar nominee was the final person to enter the Celebrity Big Brother house

Celebrity Big Brother fans said that Mickey Rourke ‘has no idea what he’s doing’ as he joined the show on Monday night (April 7).

After weeks of rumours that he would be joining the ITV reality programme, Mickey was the final contestant to enter the house.

Speaking in his introductory video package, the Oscar nominee revealed the advice that a UK screen legend gave him.

“I have no clue about Big Brother, I thought Big Brother was the government. I talked to my close mate Ray Winstone, he goes, ‘Just be yourself and go have fun’.

“I like the people in the UK, the mentality and the culture, the food, shepherd’s pie, oh, I love you here.

“I don’t take orders very well, but if everybody is nice and respectful, we can have a good time, as long as nobody pushes the envelope,” he said.

Being met to a chorus of applause by the crowd gathered outside the house, Mickey had to be told to enter the house by presenters AJ Odudu and Will Best as he stopped to shake hands those surrounding the stage.

Upon entering the house, Mickey was accosted by the conga line led by JoJo Siwa, who grabbed his hips as they paraded around the room.

Those watching at home rushed to X, previously known as Twitter, to have their say on this year’s most surprising Celebrity Big Brother contestant.

Nominated for an Academy Award for his work in 2008 drama The Wrestler, Mickey has appeared in Sin City, Iron Man 2 and Rumble Fish over the years.

Among those joining Mickey in the house is singer Chesney Hawkes, Corrie actor Jack P Shepherd and EastEnders icon Patsy Palmer.
