Viewers weren’t impressed with JoJo and Chris’ punishment

Celebrity Big Brother fans were left feeling “annoyed” as JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes were given a punishment after breaking a house rule.

During Tuesday’s (15th April) instalment, the divide between Chris and JoJo from the rest of the group increased after they were exposed for breaking a house rule.

At around 2am, they were seen on the cameras writing secret notes to each other as JoJo said “makes sense” to Chris while the other housemates were sleeping.

Big Brother gathered the housemates in the living room and said: “This is Big Brother. Before you entered the house, the rules regarding attempting to communicate in code or write messages were clearly explained to you.”

“Today, that rule was broken. At 1:59am in the bedroom, JoJo wrote messages on Chris’ hand in secret. Chris gave JoJo his hand and said, ‘you can write it out’’ JoJo then wrote on Chris’ hand and said ‘It makes sense, think about it’.”

JoJo and Chris were then told to stand up in front of everyone, as JoJo said: “I solemnly swear, put my hand on a bible, it had nothing to do with nominations.”

Big Brother then confirmed that the pair of them were only allowed to speak through a megaphone for the rest of the day until they learn their lesson.

However, the decision only upset the other stars as they’d already noted that they were loud enough as it is.

Speaking in the bedroom later with Daley , Angellica and Danny, Ella said: “I told you they’ve been having secret conversations.” Daley replied: “But that’s not a punishment, that’s a punishment for us. They’re laughing because they’re annoying us.”

Angellica added: “Big Brother likes to put a cat amongst the pigeons” as Danny joked: “A cat amongst the pigeons? That’s two massively loud hyenas amongst a flock of doves.”

Clocking that JoJo and Chris are “experts” at going viral, Daley responded: “You know it’s part of the plan. Every time they get a punishment and all that, they get the airtime.”

Fans were also annoyed, as on X (formerly known as Twitter), @PippaFarley wrote: “This doesn’t feel like a punishment for chris and jojo! This is a punishment for the whole house”.

@AmyJoanne__ added: “Nah if someone was speaking around me all day with a megaphone I’d throw hands” as @tomwhite03 penned: “The house seeing Jojo and Chris getting punished and realised it’s a punishment on all of them”.
