Viewers couldn’t believe the stars reasons for voting their fellow housemates out
Celebrity Big Brother viewers have branded the new series as the most “unserious” yet after the stars shared their reasons for nominating people for eviction.
The new series officially launched on ITV earlier this week, and for the first time the Big Brother stars were placed in a new location.
As the first week comes to an end on Friday (11th April) night, the stars will all face the danger of being the first to leave the reality show.
Hollywood actor Mickey Rourke, former Tory MP Sir Michael Fabricant and Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd have all been put up for eviction by their fellow housemates.
Mickey, who was previously given a warning by Big Brother for “homophobic” comments towards JoJo Siwa, and soap star Jack received the most nominations on Thursday (10th April).
Jack was given eight nominations while Mickey received seven, including a killer nomination from JoJo after he made comments about her sexuality, telling housemates that he would “vote the lesbian out real quick”.
Love Island star Chris Hughes was quick to defend JoJo, telling Mickey that he can’t say that which later led to him apologising for his hurtful commentary.
During Thursday’s episode, Sir Michael said he was “more upset” about being put up for the public vote “than losing the general election”.
He told housemates: “I’m quite enjoying this… I’ll be quite sad (to go), (I’m) up against a Hollywood star and then a Corrie star. I don’t fancy my chances for remaining.”
After being comforted by Jack, he added: “That’s why I’m so upset because everyone seems so nice. Actually I feel more upset about this than losing the general election.”
Love Island star Chris Hughes earned immunity from the launch night task, while retired Olympian Daley Thompson was given immunity by Rourke, meaning the contestants were unable to vote for them.
Mickey voted for Sir Michael as “he’s involved with politics, which I don’t find very truthful and honest” and EastEnders actress Patsy Palmer “because of the cooking”.
Sir Michael, had also put forward Patsy and told Big Brother: “I’m going to nominate Patsy. She asked me something about ‘why do I wear a wig?’
“And I’m not saying it is a wig actually. But what I am saying is that I found it slightly awkward being asked about it. I just don’t like my hair being raised. People have sensitivities and that’s my sensitivity. We’re all human – I’m more human than most.”
Viewers were quick to take to social media to react to the reasons for the stars being nominated. On X (formerly known as Twitter), @valisonh wrote: “So we’ve had nominations for farts, undercooked broccoli, wearing TOO much aftershave, having same pyjamas and now sharing a resemblance with The Joker. This series is something else man”
@colbridgey added: “This series is so unserious already” as @superTV247 penned: “PATSY NOMINATING JACK BECAUSE HE LOOKS LIKE THE JOKER AND IS GIVING HER NIGHTMARES THESE ARE THE WILDEST NOMINATIONS OF ALL TIME”
Celebrity Big Brother: Live Eviction airs on Friday at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
