Here’s what you need to know:
Man United were comfortably beaten 4-1 by Newcastle United at St James’ Park on Sunday afternoon.
Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes admitted he gets “frustrated” with his teammates because he knows how talented they are following Sunday’s 4-1 defeat to Newcastle United at St James’ Park.
A lacklustre second-half performance saw United slump to their 14th Premier League defeat of the season, extending their winless run in all competitions to four matches.
After Alejandro Garnacho had cancelled out Sandro Tonali’s opener to ensure United went into the half-time break level, Ruben Amorim’s side collapsed after the interval, conceding three cheap goals from Harvey Barnes (2) and Bruno Guimaraes.
To United’s credit, they competed well in the first half and fell behind against the run of play when Tonali was teed up by Alexander Isak. However, there was no excuse for their second-half showing.
Fernandes told Sky Sports: “My teammates – I only get frustrated with them because I know how good they can be. I know how tough it is to represent this club.
“They want so much to give to the club, to win because they know how much they will be remembered if they win something with this club.
“On Thursday we go forward, we create a big atmosphere in our stadium, we need to be on the front foot and give everything we have because we want to get to the semi-final.
“In tough moments we have done great performances against the biggest clubs. In decisive games when everyone is watching. We are Man United, we have to step up and do everything to win the game.”
