Pete was supported by fans after leaving those listening to KISS on a cliffhanger

Pete Wicks told fans ‘we made it’ after taking on a big new role alongside friend Olivia Attwood. Fans were thrilled earlier this year when the pair landed their own radio show.

It was back on Valentine’s Day that the pair of reality stars appeared on KISS to reveal they were getting together in the professional sense as they confirmed they will be hosting a brand-new show on the station, The Sunday Roast.

Pete and Olivia later hosted their first show on March 2 and have been keeping listeners entertained on a Sunday ever since. However, there was a bit of a change this week.

The podcast host and TV star and the Love Island favourite and Loose Women panelist have been heard on KISS Breakfast this week where they’ve been covering for usual hosts Jordan Banjo and Perri Kiely.

But their four-day stint at the helm of the show came to an end on Thursday (April 17) and after, Pete took to social media with a string of snaps of him and Olivia in the studio with a message for fans.

He wrote: “Well we made it through @playkissuk Breakfast for the week without killing each other…our babysitting cover for @jordanbanjo and the @realperrikiely is officially over.”

The Strictly Come Dancing 2024 star then added: “On a serious note, thanks to the @playkissuk team for having some sort of faith in us and the guys behind the scenes who ensured we didn’t f**k it up!”

And the comments of support soon came in. Strictly pro Jowita Przystal replied: “Well done!!!!” Celebs Go Dating star Anna Williamson commented: “Smashed it well done.” Love Island’s Georgia Harrison shared: “Well done guys.”

@lisakatebaker said: “Fantastic! I love hearing you and Olivia on the radio.” @annie_shorty8585 posted: “Both nailed it.” @nikkinak71 shared: “I’ve enjoyed listening to you both this week. I hope you cover Jordan and Perri again.” @alicole4 added: “Loved you guys! Looking forward to the Sunday Roast!”

It comes after Pete was determined to leave listeners on a cliff hanger as they wrapped up their last show of the week ahead of the long Easter weekend.

During Loose Women star Liv’s favourite new feature on the show, Olivia Attwood’s Hot Gossip, the pair discussed a new couple sighting – Louis Tomlinson and Zara McDermott – which Pete had his own take on.

Those who follow the latest showbiz gossip may be aware that Pete’s best pal Sam Thompson and Zara split at the end of last year following five years together. While neither has said too much about the end of their relationships, they have been seen ploughing on as normal.

It was then in early March that fans spotted the One Direction star liking the documentary maker’s social media posts. Later the same month, Zara hit the headlines as it was reported that she is dating singer and former One Direction star Louis.

And while Pete admitted to having an opinion, it didn’t appear to be one he wanted to share on air. Speaking on KISS Breakfast, he said: “I know them, I have a slight connection there and you know, I’m happy, I’m happy for them…

“That’s amazing, I’ve seen the pictures they’re walking through a car park, really romantic… I’m really struggling not to say anything but it is good gossip. I might tell you some more off air….”
