The dancer revealed her first reunion with Chris McCausland since they were crowned Strictly Come Dancing champions

Dianne Buswell has made fans ‘so happy’ as she revealed her first reunion with Chris McCausland since they were crowned Strictly Come Dancing champions.

As fans of the hit show know, the comedian and the professional dancer were paired together for the 2024 run of the BBC One dance contest and were later crowned the series champions after 13 weeks of performances.

They beat off stiff competition from their fellow 2024 finalists, Miranda actress Sarah Hadland and partner Vito Coppola, Love Island star Tasha Ghouri and dancer Aljaz Skorjanec, and JLS singer JB Gill and partner Lauren Oakley, to be crowned the champions of Strictly’s 20th-anniversary series.

And the winning pair made history on the hit dance show by lifting the Glitterball trophy at the end of the BBC One dance contest’s latest series back in December, with Chris Strictly’s first-ever blind contestant.

While their dancing journey quickly came to an end, with Chris unable to commit to the Strictly Come Dancing Live tour alongside Dianne at the start of the year, the duo haven’t kept too far apart as they launched their own podcast, titled Winning Isn’t Everything.

But for the first time since their emotional winning scenes, Dianne reunited with Chris as she and her boyfriend Joe Sugg headed to see the comedian in his usual habitat as he took to the stage as part of his on-going stand-up tour, Yonks!

Sharing a video of her and Joe’s trip to see Chris, and the in-person reunion fans had been waiting for, Dianne shared on Instagram: “Joe, me and the glitter ball went on a little road trip to visit the one and only Chris McCausland on tour (yonks).

“It was the first time we had seen each other since the final. We got to see him do his thing on stage not only was his posture 10/10 but it was genuinely the funniest thing I had ever seen. It was sooooo good to see ya partner #winningisnteverything.”

And it’s fair to say fans were thrilled as they rushed to respond to the update. @caitlinwestiexoxo said: “This is so cute!!!! So so happy you stayed friends after the show!! Can never not imagine this duo now.” @smudgercfc shared: “Love this. You 2 reunited is the best.”
