Here’s what you need to know:
BBC Breakfast presenter Charlie Stayt was quick to shut down a guest during an interview on Thursday’s show as he spoke to the two finalists on The Apprentice.
BBC Breakfast presenter Charlie Stayt swiftly took control during a segment on Thursday’s programme. Alongside co-host Naga Munchetty, Charlie introduced viewers to The Apprentice finalists before the series comes to an end on Thursday night.
After showcasing footage from the previous episode, which saw candidates undergo gruelling interviews about their business plans, Dean Franklin was seen struggling with his presentation.
Dean, an air conditioning business owner, repeatedly confused ‘climate change’ with ‘climate control,’ a slip-up he put down to the pressure.
Speaking to Charlie and Naga, he confessed: “I don’t know what happened! As soon as I sat in that chair my brain just went, I crumbled and I knew whatever was coming out of my mouth was just rubbish, but I couldn’t stop myself and I couldn’t get any sentences out, the pressure was real!”
Charlie did not hesitate to bring up another cringe-inducing incident from Dean’s interview involving an inappropriate picture.

Pressing him, Charlie remarked: “You best explain to people.” The other finalist at the sofa, Anisa Khan, chuckled and commented: “The infamous photo, it’s not morning news!”
Realising the nature of the topic, Charlie promptly withdrew his line of questioning, reports the Express.
Charlie commented: “I do know the thing you’re talking about, you’re absolutely right, we won’t talk about that! What it is, something that happened in your past, a picture that emerged from social media. Frankly, you wouldn’t want reminding of now, that happens.”
Dean concurred with Charlie’s sentiment, sharing with the BBC hosts how his past resurfaced to bite him, much to their amusement
.
On Thursday night, either Anisa or Dean will be announced as the victor of this year’s Apprentice on BBC.
The winner will receive a £250,000 investment for their business from Lord Sugar. In anticipation of the big reveal, both candidates informed Charlie and Naga of their plans to celebrate the occasion with loved ones.
Dean disclosed:” My kids don’t even know (who won), they’re nine and eight.” Naga humorously remarked she wouldn’t entrust such a significant secret to children of that age.
The Apprentice final airs Thursday April 17 on BBC One from 9pm. BBC Breakfast is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
