Altay Bayindir has dropped a team news hint as he prepares to make his Manchester United Premier League debut against Newcastle United.

Ruben Amorim’s side will head to Tyneside looking to claim their first win since mid-March. Following the stalemate in the Manchester derby against Manchester City, United sit 13th place and must start picking up points with only six games remaining in the season.

It’s fair to say that No.1 goalkeeper Andre Onana has had a difficult season between the sticks and after 69 consecutive Premier League starts, he has been omitted from the squad for this fixture. This comes after his display during the 2-2 draw with Lyon.

The Cameroonian was at fault for both goals, including a stoppage-time equaliser. Onana’s omission will give him a chance to rest and reset ahead of the second leg at Old Trafford next week — though it’s still unclear whether he will return.

Ahead of the clash, Bayindir was joined by Diogo Dalot, Casemiro and Leny Yoro in posting pre-match graphic previews of the fixture to their Instagram stories. That usually hints at the player feature, either from the start – as is expected for Bayindir – or from the bench.

Dalot, a virtual ever-present under Amorim, is set to make his 31st Premier League start of the season.

Yoro, meanwhile, is aiming for a third consecutive league start, while Casemiro, who also shared a pre-match graphic on Instagram, has retained his place in the last two top-flight matches ahead of Christian Eriksen.

Speaking to reporters on Friday, Amorim made it clear there still a responsibility to get results in the run-in. He said: “There’s a great responsibility. We don’t have a team that is really big to do that [rotate], and then we have some players that I know that cannot make 90 minutes in this moment still.

“We have be careful, so we will try to address all these subjects in the game against Newcastle. But we have a great responsibility when we play any game, so I will try to look at that. That is for sure. But we have to face Newcastle with a team that we can be competitive, and to win the game.”
