The store has issued an urgent recall over allergy concerns

Aldi has issued an urgent “do not eat” warning over concerns that one of its popular products could cause allergic reactions for some shoppers.

The announcement comes after Aldi recalled its Inspired Cuisine Baby Potatoes with Herbs and Butter 385g packets when the product was found to contain milk which had not been disclosed on the label.

The recall comes amid fears that the food item could cause any shoppers to become ill who were unaware of the presence of milk in the product.

Aldi has now issued a recall and urgent “do not eat” notice for any customers with an intolerance or allergy to milk who previously bought the product.

Instead, shoppers who believe that the product is unsafe for them to consume should return the item to their nearest store.

Shoppers are advised to check the use by date and barcode on purchased 385g packets of the Inspired Cuisine Baby Potatoes with Herbs and Butter to see if they are affected by the recall.

Packets with a use by date of 12 April and the barcode of 4061463488152 are affected by the recall, and shoppers will receive a full refund for them when returned.

Aldi has issued a statement apologising that the product has not met their “usual high standards” and has thanked customers for their cooperation.

The Food Standards Agency has also advised Aldi to contact the relevant allergy support groups which will be able to further inform their members of the recall.
