SUNDAY FUNNIES WITH KERRY CALLEN Meets JOKER WEEK!

Welcome to JOKER WEEK! One of the greatest characters in comics history debuted 85 years ago, in Batman #1, on April 24, 1940 — and we’re celebrating with a series of features saluting the Clown Prince of Crime, just like we did with CATWOMAN WEEK. For the complete index of JOKER WEEK features, click here.

The first time I saw the 1989 Batman movie, when the Caped Crusader finally punches the Joker, I remember thinking: “It’s about time! That guy never shuts up!”

I love the Joker — he’s comics’ greatest villain — but you have to admit, besides all the mass murdering, he can be really annoying. I don’t think there’s a more punchable face.

Which is why I dig this piece by Kerry:

Whatever the Joker did, he deserved it.
