The anime-inspired anthology series Star Wars: Visions returns for a third volume this year, with nine new shorts set to premiere on Disney+ on October 29th. Volume 3 of Star Wars: Visions will also include continuations of a few previous stories seen during the past seasons, something that many fans wished for, considering quite a few shorts had the potential to be developed even more. These include a sequel to “The Duel”, with the added subtitle of “Payback”, directed by Takanobu Mizuno with character designs by Takashi Okazaki; the storyline of “The Village Bride” continues in “The Lost Ones”; and “The Ninth Jedi” will receive a new short, subtitled “Child of Hope”. Not only that, but “The Ninth Jedi” will also receive its own spin-off limited series sometime next year. More details will undoubtedly come out in due time, but this is pretty exciting news.
Here’s a rundown of the other shorts that will be included in Volume 3: “Yuko’s Treasure” directed by Masaki Tachibana; “The Smuggler” (director Masahiko Otsuka); Ken Yamamoto directs “The Bounty Hunters”; Hiroyasu Kobayashi helms “The Song of Four Wings”; Tadahiro Yoshihira directs “Bird of Paradise”; Shinya Ohira is writing, directing, designing, and key-animating the “Black” short, which will also compete in this year’s animation festival at Annecy in June.
Animation studios working on Volume 3 include Wit Studio (whose past works include Attack on Titan, Spy X Family, or Suicide Squad Isekai), Project Studio Q (Lazarus, Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX ), Polygon Pictures (Pacific Rim: The Black, Dragon’s Dogma), and david productions.
Stay tuned for further updates, including a full trailer and whatever else. The first two volumes of Star Wars: Visions are available to stream on Disney+, with Volume 3 set to debut on October 29th, 2025.
