The 2025 edition of The Netherlands’ Kaboom Animation Festival (kaboomfestival.nl) has come to a successful close, celebrating the program’s most impressive shorts, features and immersive animated works with an evening awards ceremony at Eye Amsterdam.
The winners of the Best Short Film and Best Dutch Short awards in Kaboom’s official competition qualify for consideration for the Academy Awards for best animated short. The winners of the Best Short Film, Best Documentary, Best VR, Best Student Short and the Jamie Bolio Award will also be off to the Annie Awards!
Both the Oscar-qualifying juried and audience awards for Best Short were awarded to for Scars We Love (Les belles cicatrices).
