Dan Jurgens and Bruno Redondo’s SUPERMAN TREASURY 2025: HERO FOR ALL is DC’s first new treasury in decades…
Since last year, DC has been having a fab ol’ time reprinting its Bronze Age treasuries as Facsimile Editions. Earlier in 2025, they even published 1980’s landmark miniseries The Untold Legend of the Batman in treasury form (or tabloid form, if you prefer.)
Well, now it’s finally happening — DC in July will be publishing its first all-new treasury in decades with the one-shot Superman Treasury 2025: Hero For All, written by Dan Jurgens and illustrated by Bruno Redondo, with color by Adriano Lucas.

Main cover by Redondo and Lucas. Familiar?
You can pre-order through your comics shop as early as this Friday — dubbed Superman Day because it marks the April 18, 1938, release of Action Comics #1. (There will also be a bunch of Superman specials for sale that day, as well as freebies.)
DC is calling Superman Treasury 2025: Hero For All a “larger-than-life story of power, tragedy, action, and, above all — hope.” It’s part of the publisher’s Summer of Superman initiative and will be released July 2 — nine days before James Gunn’s highly anticipated Superman film.
“Since Superman is the cornerstone on which our entire industry is built, the term ‘treasury-sized edition’ seems to be the perfect vehicle for him,” said Jurgens, one of the best-known and highly respected writers and artists in the Man of Steel’s 87-year history. “As a kid, the term ‘treasury edition’ meant that it was sure to be a special project and one that I just had to have.”

Jurgens variant cover
Jurgens, in fact, wrote and pencilled the last DC treasury to feature all-new material — 1999’s Superman/Fantastic Four.
“There’s been more than 25 years since DC published their last original Treasury Edition—double size of a regular comic book!” Redondo said. “So, having the chance to participate on this is something really special, and I’m really giving my best for it to be special.”
Jurgens said Superamn Treasury 2025: Hero for All is “our attempt at trying to recapture the spirit of what made those earlier, epic projects something that we remember with such fondness. We have a grand story that is wide in scope, action and visual drama that also takes a deeper look at Superman’s character and verifies his status as the preeminent hero in the DCU.
“The larger page size gives the artist every opportunity to push the scope of the story into something that explodes off the page and that is just what Bruno Redondo is working overtime to do,” he added. “He has a wide range of characters and plenty of big story moments to play with and he’s going all-out to give readers a visual treat that they’re sure to love. In short, the idea of a ‘treasury-sized edition’ feels like the perfect way to acknowledge and celebrate this Summer of Superman.”

Redondo’s Superman design
Oh, and you want to know about the plot? Here’s DC’s description: “When a vicious armada of extraterrestrial extremists launches an all-out invasion of Earth, only Superman can stand in the way of total annihilation. But there’s something different about this attack —it’s deadly from both without and within.”

Many thoughts:

Scott Koblish: Front cover on the left, back cover on the right.
— DC’s treasury reprints have been highly popular so it only goes to follow they’d return to new material. And picking Jurgens and Redondo as the creative ream is exceptionally shrewd. The treasury Facsimile Edition market is geared toward older readers and Jurgens’ impact on the Man of Steel goes back to the 1980s. Redondo, on the other hand, just came off a critically acclaimed, award-winning run on Nightwing, making him one of the hottest artists working today. So this should appeal to all ages of readers.
— Just like the treasuries of old, there will be bonus material — images and info from the new Superman movie.
— There will also be an as-yet-unreleased movie-themed photo variant cover, plus the Jurgens variant, and a two-sided variant by Scott Koblish featuring Superman’s friends and foes (similar to what he’s doing for the upcoming New History of the DC Universe).
— The 80-page issue will measure the traditional 10 1/8” x 13 5/16” — nearly double the size of a normal comic book.
— The Redondo cover and the variants will list for $14.99 each. There will be a $19.99 foil cover, which is expected to be the Redondo cover. No blank/sketch cover is planned.
— DC will also begin taking pre-orders Friday for its other July Super-titles: Action Comics #1088, Supergirl #3, Krypto: The Last Dog of Krypton #2, Superman: Unlimited #3, and Superman #28.
— Aaaaand, I highly recommend you visit 13th Dimension on Superman Day this Friday. We’re gonna have an EXCLUSIVE announcement from DC that you will most certainly dig.
